EATON CORP &
VENEDOCIA LIONS CONTRIBUTE TO CAMPAIGN

Doug Ruen of the
Venedocia Lions Club is shown presenting a check for $500 to Deb
Russell, Executive Director of the United Way of Van Wert
County, and Laura Moody representing Eaton Corp.
"Each year the employees at Eaton and this year the employees at
Braun look forward to Venedocia Sausage sandwiches. It's the one
thing everyone wants, states Moody. This is a great fundraiser
for the United Way and the Venedocia Lions Club generously
donates their profits back to the United Way for that day".
The United Way appreciates all the hard work and the donation
given by the Venedocia Lions Club.

PACESETTER LIFE STAR
RESCUE HOLDS BAKE SALE FUNDRAISER

Life Star Rescue, one of the 2009 United Way
Campaign Pacesetter Companies, recently held a bake sale for
their employees with the proceeds going toward their United Way
campaign.
Warm pies, homemade cookies, and brownies topped the list of
favorites. Lisa Lawson, United Way Board Member who was manning
the sale at the end reported that a man came up and asked “how
much for everything on the table? I totaled the items and he
bought it all!”
“It was a fun day for our employees. The company provided lunch
for the employees along with the bake sale, stated Amy Axe. We
are glad to be part of the pacesetter for United Way”.
PACESETTER BRAUN INDUSTRIES HOLDS FUNDRAISER -- 08/13/09

As part of their United Way pacesetter activities Braun Industries sold the famous Venedocia Lions Club Sausage
Sandwiches. Over 300 sandwiches were consumed over the lunch hour. Employees from Braun, Life Star Rescue, and Statewide
Emergency Products purchased sandwiches for their employees. Several people from United Way Agencies and other area businesses
also stopped in for a sandwich.
"This is just one creative way Braun came up with to promote and raise funds for United Way", states Rob Gamble, Campaign
Chair. "We are also looking forward to more activities at the pacesetter companies in the weeks to come. Bake sales, a softball
tournament, and a sponsored walk to name a few. This starts our campaign off to a good start!"
If you would like more information on upcoming activities, please call the United Way office at 419.238.6689.
