GRANTS

The Van Wert County Foundation administers grants to qualified events and organizations to further the mental, moral, intellectual or physical welfare and advancement of citizens of Van Wert County, Ohio and such other areas as directed by the donor.

General Guidelines

  1. Grants are made to organizations accorded a tax exempt 501(c)(3) public charity status by the Internal Revenue Service and to governmental units.

  2. Grants are not made to individuals except those who are accepted as a part of the college scholarship program.

  3. The Foundation does not provide grants for projects that taxpayers or commercial interests normally support.

  4. The Foundation does not support religious activities or programs that serve specific religious groups or denominations.

Grant requests are considered twice each year, in June and December. Grant requests must be in writing and must be received no later than May 15 or November 15 in order to be considered.

Written grant requests should include the following information-

  1. A description of the project and what will be accomplished

  2. A description of the population to be served

  3. A documented line-item budget for the proposed grant

  4. Information about the organization requesting funds including its tax exempt status
